What you’ll be doing:
Join a dynamic and highly collaborative legal team supporting Zurich Cover-More and BOXX across Canada and North America. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, insurance, cyber, privacy, and corporate legal matters while partnering closely with business leaders and legal colleagues across multiple jurisdictions. Offering significant visibility across the organizations, this role is ideal for a lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys tackling new challenges, and is excited by the opportunity to build broad in-house expertise across a diverse range of legal disciplines. In this role, you will:
- Provide practical legal advice and day-to-day support across Zurich Cover-More & BOXX’s operations, with a specific focus on the Canadian business.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, partner, broker, technology, and service arrangements.
- Support insurance, licensing, regulatory, compliance, and governance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with business leaders to identify legal risks, solve problems, and support strategic initiatives.
- Assist with privacy, marketing, product, underwriting, and customer-facing legal matters as they arise.
- Coordinate with internal and external counsel on litigation, disputes, regulatory inquiries, and specialized legal projects.
- Work across a diverse mix of legal matters, providing broad exposure to the business and opportunities for continued professional growth.
What skills and experience you’ll bring on this journey:
- 4-7 years of legal experience with a strong foundation in corporate, commercial, insurance, regulatory, or financial services matters.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and written communication skills.
- The ability to quickly assess issues, identify risks, and provide practical business-focused solutions.
- Confidence working independently while knowing when to seek guidance or escalate issues.
- A growth mindset and willingness to take on new areas of law and unfamiliar challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Insurance, travel insurance, cyber, technology, financial services, or other regulated industry experience is considered a strong asset.
- A collaborative, adaptable, and entrepreneurial approach to legal practice, with a genuine desire to learn and contribute beyond a traditional legal silo.

At Zurich Cover-More, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. In compliance with local laws, Zurich commits to providing a fair and reasonable compensation range for each role. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $125,000.00 – $175,000.00 with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
