Project Manager
The Opportunity
Are you looking for a caring, collaborative, values-driven workplace with inspiring teammates and leaders? Do you have the ambition and desire to be the best and thrive at the most impactful global insurance provider in the world? Look no further than Zurich Canada.
If you have project management experience within the insurance industry, and are looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.
Zurich Canada is currently looking for a highly capable Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives across business and technology.
Reporting to the AVP, Client Engagement Platforms, you will translate business ideas into well-defined, executable projects and ensuring delivery from initial scoping through to successful implementation and benefits realization.
You will act as a trusted partner to business and technology leaders, driving clarity, structure, and momentum across complex initiatives. This is not a coordination role — it requires strong ownership, critical thinking, and the ability to challenge, influence, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented mindset — bringing not just problems, but clear analysis, impact, and recommended paths forward in a supportive environment where your voice matters. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligence–enabled tools to support certain aspects of the recruitment process, including the initial review and screening of applications. Artificial intelligence is not the sole basis for candidate shortlisting or selection. All hiring decisions are reviewed and made by qualified hiring professionals.
Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence, which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements.
What you will do
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, from initial concept to full implementation and benefits realization.
- Manage cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts between business, IT, and external vendors for optimal results.
- Facilitate structured, outcome-focused meetings using clear agendas and decision frameworks.
- Translate business needs into precise project scopes, objectives, deliverables, and measurable success criteria.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, estimates, timelines, and resource allocations, identifying dependencies and critical paths.
- Gather and document requirements using structured methods, ensuring business and system needs are fully understood.
- Partner with stakeholders to design practical, scalable solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Establish and oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, and track costs, communicating impacts from changes.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues, providing context, quantified impacts, and actionable solutions.
- Manage vendor relationships and performance to optimize delivery and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and audit requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare for operational readiness, including communications, training, deployment, and transition to BAU teams.
Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table
Required:
- Insurance industry experience
- Experience managing IT, infrastructure, or end-user computing (EUC) projects
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, and service management frameworks (ITIL v3/v4)
Preferred:
- Proficiency with project and delivery tools (MS Project or equivalent, Azure DevOps / Jira, ServiceNow, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create clear, structured, executive-ready presentations.
- Strong stakeholder management and vendor negotiation capabilities
- Certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, ITIL Foundation, Lean Six Sigma, or relevant Microsoft certifications
