Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Claims Manager, Casualty Claims to lead a team of Claims Professionals and support high-quality service and operational efficiency. Reporting to the VP of Mainstream Claims, you will manage and direct the work activities of a team of Claims Professionals across one or multiple locations. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality service and operational efficiency through performance management, employee development and coaching.

What you will do
• Lead and direct administrative activities for Customer Services functional areas by helping develop, implement and monitor administrative and operational policies, procedures and best practices.
• Use management tools to assess, evaluate and improve workflows, processes, procedures, systems and data quality to enhance outcomes, efficiency, quality and productivity.
• Coordinate, manage and champion changes in requirements, strategy and culture across all functional areas of responsibility.
• Build rapport and maintain effective relationships with business partners to improve internal and external customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives.
• Execute and monitor activities that support compliance with internal controls, audit controls and best practices.
• Manage and allocate resources to support effective utilization and meet customer needs.
• Implement and support talent management practices through goal setting, performance measurement and monitoring, feedback, mentoring, development and training.
• Manage and monitor expenditures to support an efficient cost structure.
• Support the business planning process for the functional units within the assigned geographic area.
• Identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in the external environment and recommend improvements to the department.
• Act as a technical resource for the team.
Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table
Required
• Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in Claims;
• High school diploma or equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in Claims.
AND
• 2 or more years of management experience.
• Data research and analysis skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred
• Six or more years of commercial lines Claims experience.
• Previous people management experience.
• Strong data research and analysis skills.
• Training and presentation skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet/database skills.
• Strong organization and multitasking skills.
At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors such as office location, specific responsibilities and individual qualifications. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
