Project Manager, Technical Underwriting
Zurich North America is currently hiring a Project Manager, Technical Underwriting and this person will report to the Head of Product Development Process. This person can be based out of our Schaumburg, IL North America HQ, our Downtown Chicago office OR remotely for the right person.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Manager over various Product and Product related projects, aligning appropriate resources, setting project direction and applying an agile mindset to lead projects to success.
- Provide expert solution-oriented guidance and lead project stakeholders through change management
- Partner with Business Units to help in the execution of business plans and pricing strategies.
- Lead key aspects of portfolio management,
- Lead initiatives that have a high impact on the development of process efficiencies to help the Underwriters achieve business goals
- Participate in compliance-related queries, including regulatory exams and insurance department inquiries.
- Diagnose and develop recommendations to solve complex, ambiguous problems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPCU; RPLU or similar professional designation.
- Experience in personal lines or P&C insurance industry.
- Ability to manage people and resources in a matrix environment.
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership, heads of business units.
- Advanced knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory environment.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering projects on time.
- Strong experience with JIRA or similar tool.
- Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $213,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
