Senior Ergonomics Specialist
Zurich North America is seeking a Certified Professional Ergonomics Specialist to join Zurich Resilience Solutions. The individual in this role may reside within the U.S. with willingness to travel 25-50%. The role includes a company car. We are looking for a candidate who is currently a CPE Certified Professional Ergonomist.

The Ergonomics Specialist responsibilities include:
- Deliver advanced level service in the ergonomics of technical expertise (eg: risk evaluation, management consulting, strategy development, training) to meet needs of underwriting and customer.
- Serve as a technical resource to the field Risk Engineers
- Mentor and collaborate in the technical development of Risk Engineering field consultants and perform quality assessments of their work
- Effectively partner with Account Engineers to consult with clients and business partners on ways to control ergonomic risks to mitigate or prevent losses
- Understand and apply practical, collaborative consulting concepts in helping clients develop ongoing programs for continuous safety improvement
- Develop professional reports and correspondence to document findings and offer recommendations to various stakeholders
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and emerging issues
- Work closely with Regional Managers and Technical Directors to advance ergonomics service delivery and strategy
- Deliver customer funded fees to support service engagement
This position involves the use of a company car. If selected for the position, your driving record will be examined.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in ergonomics applications
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in ergonomics applications
OR - Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 6 or more years of experience in ergonomics applications
AND - Experience working in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Kaizen experience to facilitate events
- Good public speaking skills to provide client training as well as represent at local, state and national conferences.
- Manage multiple projects, budgets, deadlines
- Undergraduate degree in human factors, environmental health and safety, engineering, sciences or related technical fields preferred, though relevant experience in consulting or industry will be considered
- Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) designation
- Working understanding of Commercial Lines insurance coverage, products, and services
- Demonstrated expertise in industrial ergonomics
- Can distill technical information and develop pragmatic recommendations that are understandable and clear to individuals who have varying levels of technical understanding
- Can acquire working knowledge of relevant Risk Engineering systems
- Deliver services within established budgets
- Willing and able to acquire and grow service budgets from both insured and non-insured customers
- Develops credibility with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, who can effectively prioritize workload in light of business priorities
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $98,300.00 - $161,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
