Workers Compensation Team Lead
Zurich North America is hiring a Workers’ Compensation Team Lead to support our West Region. We are seeking candidates with strong jurisdictional expertise in Arizona and/or California claims. Remote or hybrid work options are available based on location.
Position Overview:
As the Workers Compensation Team Lead, you will support the AVP and Team Managers in coordinating various operational activities. This includes overseeing audit processes, managing jurisdictional training, and generating performance reports. You will also play a critical role in both local and national projects, helping to enhance overall performance within the workers compensation group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate audit activities, including conducting or supporting internal and state file audits, and organizing audit data.
- Facilitate office training, including onboarding for new hires and ongoing training initiatives. This may involve preparing and delivering training sessions or coordinating with external resources.
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for the workers compensation team.
- Assist with local and national projects as needed, driving improvements and operational efficiency.
- Provide operational support for the region, offering backup assistance to team managers and adjusters as required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in claims and/or litigation management
OR - Juris Doctor with 2+ years of experience in claims and/or litigation management
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (with Associate Degree) and 6+ years of experience in claims and/or litigation management
OR - Completion of the Zurich Claims Training Program with 6+ years of experience in claims and/or litigation management
OR
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of experience in claims and/or litigation management
- Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage teams
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build cross-functional relationships
- Proactive in sharing insights and fostering a knowledge-sharing culture
- Ability to gather and apply insights from various teams to improve outcomes
- Proficiency in understanding and applying complex insurance policies for claims management
- Experience in reserving processes for indemnity and expense, particularly for complex claims
- Skilled in communicating coverage determinations and directing counsel on litigation and settlement strategies
- Expertise in analyzing and explaining complex financial or actuarial trends
Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $74,300.00 - $121,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
