Zurich Insurance Company is looking for an HR Business Consultant, for 18 months, who will be a key member of the Zurich HR Business Partnering team, with a strong focus on employee lifecycle support, HR projects, annual people cycles reporting and people analytics. Working closely with HR Business Partners, HR Operations and business stakeholders, the role will support the delivery of effective HR processes, governance and continuous improvement across Zurich. 

 

This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.  Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Your Role

 

As an HR Business Consultant your main responsibilities will include a broad mix of HR generalist, HR Business Partnering support and reporting activities, including but not necessarily limited to the following:

 

  • Support the HR Business Partnering team with generalist HR activity across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, performance, absence management, employee engagement and offboarding processes.
  • Assist with the coordination and delivery of annual HR cycles, including performance reviews, talent reviews, engagement surveys, salary review activity and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Provide practical HR support to managers and employees, helping to ensure HR processes are delivered consistently, accurately and in line with Zurich policies.
  • Prepare HR documentation, trackers and analyses to support effective HR decision-making and governance.
  • Maintain regular HR reports and people metrics for Zurich Life, including headcount, FTE, attrition, absence, diversity, internal mobility, recruitment and training.
  • Monitor HR trends and metrics to help identify themes, risks and opportunities for the HR Business Partnering team and Life leadership.
  • Work closely with HR Operations and the HR Business Partnering team to ensure employee data is accurate, complete and consistent across systems.
  • Maintain Excel-based HR trackers, templates and reporting tools to support day-to-day HR activity and planning.
  • Drive our people sustainability ambitions by championing internal skill development and mobility, using data based insights to future-proof our workforce.

Your Skills and Experience

 

As an HR Business Consultant your skills and qualifications will include a blend of HR generalist, HR coordination and reporting experience:

 

  • A qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline is desirable.

  • 3+ years’ experience in an HR role, HR coordination or HR Business Partnering support role.

  • Good understanding of core HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, absence, engagement, talent and reward cycles.

  • Experience supporting HR projects, annual HR processes and people-related initiatives in a busy HR environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with HR colleagues, managers and business stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work with confidential information and maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Strong capability working with HR reports, people metrics and Excel-based datasets, with the ability to analyse information, identify trends and present clear insights to support decision-making.
  • Practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to support continuous improvement of HR processes and ways of working.
  • Experience supporting Employee Relations cases and providing guidance to managers on people-related matters. Good knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.

Additional Information

Primary work location is Wexford. Occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations. Hybrid working will be faciliated as part of our way of working.
