The opportunity: 


This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Zurich Resilience Solutions business as a Senior Risk Engineer in the Property Technical Team. The role of the Senior Risk Engineer – Technical, is to help develop a world class risk engineering team who have the skills and capabilities to deliver for our customers and stakeholders across the range of property risk management services that we provide. 


There will be a requirement to provide training to our property risk engineers across a range of property risk management services including fire safety, fire protection systems, business interruption, natural hazards and escape of water.


In this home-worker role, the Senior Risk Engineer, Technical is also responsible for assisting with analysing emerging risks, supporting our business partners with technical property risk support and assisting with the technical development side of any new propositions.

Key Responsibilities: 


•    Develop and deliver property risk management training to our risk engineers across a range of property classes such as fire safety, fire protection, business interruption, natural hazards and escape of water
•    Assist with the technical training and development of our new risk engineers
•    Analyse emerging property risks and provide risk management guidance to our risk engineers, underwriters and customers
•    Provide technical risk support to our underwriting partners in Zurich to assist with the selection and analysis of new and existing business
•    Support the technical development of existing and new service propositions that our property risk engineers deliver
•    Opportunity to support with analysis of changes taking place in the built environment and seeking to influence via thought leadership

 

Your skills and experience:


•    Risk management qualification in an appropriate subject e.g. Institution of Fire Engineers, Institute of Risk Management or relevant degree
•    Extensive experience working in the Risk Management arena
•    Extensive technical knowledge of appropriate Risk management activities e.g. fire safety, fire protection, security, business interruption, natural hazards and escape of water.
•    Has a knowledge of trade and process risks across key areas e.g. commercial, industrial, retail and/or public services sectors
•    Experience of delivering high quality training on specialised or complex risk management topics
•    Excellent customer relationship & presentation skills
•    Excellent influencing, negotiating and consulting skills
•    The ability to discuss technical issues with experts
•    Ability to successfully liaise with senior managers throughout the organisation
