BA/SME Data Bricks - 80-100% - Finance Transformation, temporary 31.12.2027

The Finance Transformation is building a leading connected, collaborative Finance Function which is faster and more insight-driven. We will do this by transforming everything we do, every process, data and tool and injecting new ways of work and AI to amplify our Finance talent.
The BA/SME Databricks will play a key role in the technology stream, focusing on business analysis and subject matter expertise to ensure that Databricks is leveraged as defined in the target architecture and roadmap.
This role will work on processes, options and business cases to use Databricks for Finance data integration, analytics and data products, and the role will help Finance teams understand when and how to use Databricks versus other platforms.
What you will do
- Work with Group Finance, BU Finance and data/analytics teams to identify and refine use cases for Databricks (e.g. finance data pipelines, advanced analytics, scenario analysis, data products.
- Gather and challenge business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications for Databricks solutions.
- Assess which requirements should be implemented on Databricks vs. other platforms (SAP, Anaplan, BI tools), in line with the Finance technology strategy.
- Define and document Finance processes that rely on Databricks (e.g. data preparation for reporting, modelling workflows, analytics).
- Contribute to the Databricks operating model for Finance: roles, responsibilities, ways of working with Group IT / data platform teams.
- Evaluate solution options for Finance needs.
- Develop business cases for Databricks initiatives, including benefits (data quality, automation, speed, insight), effort and cost.
- Support prioritisation of Databricks use cases within the Finance Transformation roadmap.
- Translate business needs/requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria.
- Define test cases and acceptance criteria for Databricks solutions from a Finance perspective.
- Coordinate UAT with Finance users, manage defects and support resolution.
- Ensure Databricks initiatives remain aligned with the target Finance technology and data architecture defined by the Business Solution Architects.
What you bring
- Experience as Business Analyst or SME in Finance, data or analytics projects.
- Good understanding of Finance / Group Finance processes.
- Practical experience with data platforms or analytics environments; hands on exposure to Databricks is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with concepts such as data pipelines, data modelling, data products, and analytics/BI.
- Experience working with IT / data engineering teams on shared solutions.
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills.
- Ability to analyse solution options and build business cases in a clear, structured way.
- Structured, analytical and solution oriented mindset.
- Ability to simplify complexity and communicate clearly to non technical audiences.
- Experience working in complex, global programmes, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong collaboration skills and a “one team” attitude, supporting both Finance and IT colleagues.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage.
