As a Communications Director Digital, Technology and Operations for Zurich Insurance Group, you will be at the forefront of telling the story of Zurich’s tech innovation, AI, operations and digital transformation narrative and are a subject matter expert in the corporate tech space. Alongside driving strategic initiatives, you will lead the day-to-day communications that support core business needs. You will shape the experience of our employees, leaders, and audiences across and beyond the organization through original and engaging communications, working closely with business stakeholders as well as a cross-functional Comms & Public Affairs expert team.
What you will do
- Leading global Digital, Technology and Operations communications across the business to support the delivery of Zurich’s tech innovation, AI, operations and digital transformation strategy.
- Think ‘big picture’ and provide seamless strategic communications advice to senior leaders, including C-suite executives, building strong and trusted relationships across and beyond the company.
- Design and deliver an effective and agile 360° communications to drive engagement across all our employees, stakeholders, and markets.
- Plan and execute creative communications and change communications plans through understanding business needs, audience motivations, and deliver high impact, results driven solutions and campaigns.
- Manage and coordinate a small, cross-functional team to define and execute agreed communication objectives, ensure end-to-end delivery and deliver impact.
- Act as a subject matter expert and work closely with other comms expert teams as well as our local markets to ensure a targeted and coordinated approach.
- Help shape Zurich’s external reputation by working closely with our media relations team, influential partners, and relevant forums to amplify our voice in the AI, tech and operations space, and with our Social Media team to build advocacy and position Zurich as a leading digital insurer pushing the boundaries with responsible AI.
- Demonstrate measurable results against communications KPIs.
What you bring
- A Master’s degree or comparable qualification in Corporate Communications/PR.
- At least 10+ years of experience in corporate communications roles, preferably in support of a leading technology, operations, innovation or transformation function and related best practices.
- Proven ability to support large-scale transformation programs and innovation.
- Leadership qualities to manage, influence and motivate a cross-functional team.
- Proven experience in best practice communications, digital transformation, technical and operational excellence, and external positioning.
- Experience working as a strategic adviser with senior leaders and the capability to influence to ensure delivery of simple and complex communication, change programs and messages.
- Strategic, organized and structured approach to work with the ability to juggle a variety of different tasks in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to simplify complexity and create meaningful messages that contribute to the overarching business strategy.
- Native level written and spoken English with strong copywriting and editing skills, exceptional attention to detail. German is a plus.
- Expertise in using various communication channels, especially digital tools (internal and external social media) and innovative formats, to target key audiences with meaningful content and adapt communication approaches based on data insights.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management techniques and practices.
- Interculturally savvy and experienced in working at a global/international level.
