Credit Risk Specialist (temporary contract until December 2026)

In this role, you’ll support Senior Credit Officers and the Head of Financial Risk Governance, focusing on evaluating and providing recommendation for credit risk approvals and refining group-wide policies and processes. Your expertise covers credit risk in reinsurance, credit insurance, and investments (fixed income, private debt, structured credit), working closely with diverse stakeholders.

What you will do
- Partnering and advising business stakeholders and the broader risk team to promote a strong risk culture including effective credit assessment, approval, monitoring, and reporting practices.
- Overseeing Credit Risk portfolio quality and governance.
- Supporting the facilitation of the Corporate Reinsurance Credit Committee including the preparation of agenda, portfolio analysis, maintenance of the Committee charter etc.
- Maintaining and developing of policy and minimum risk management standards.
- Preparing Group Risk Management contributions for Management, Board, and the Zurich annual review reporting as it relates to Credit Risk.
- Maintain and co-ordinate approvals for Reinsurance and Reinsurance Broker approved lists.
- Evolving and collaborating on exposure measurement methodologies.
- Providing risk insights to management via deep dives and Quarterly Risk Reporting.
- Ensuring policy adherence and ERM processes are implemented as it relates to the team’s responsibilities.
- Driving ongoing efficiency, process, and system improvements, including automation of controls and system workflows in close collaboration with our Credit Support and Development teams.
What you bring
- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
- 6-10+ years’ relevant experience in Credit Risk Analysis from a banking, insurance or reinsurance background.
- Understanding and preferably experience in developing Credit risk frameworks, policies, methodologies and processes.
- Strong Credit Risk analytical expertise and referral background.
- Preferably experience in Reinsurance, Insurance, Captives credit risk.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English including meeting facilitation.
- Resilience and ability to manage change in a complex international organisation.
- CFA, FRM or similar qualifications would be beneficial.
