Global Head of Risk Advisory

Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) is Zurich’s dedicated commercial risk engineering and risk advisory business, working as a trusted advisor for underwriting, insurance customers and independent risk advisory customers. We provide customers with services and solutions that help them understand, manage and reduce their risks – from Core Risk Engineering Lines: Property, Casualty, Energy, Construction & Marine, to climate and natural hazards, to cyber, supply chain and other emerging risks. 

 

As Global Head of Risk Advisory, you will own ZRS’s global risk advisory proposition and thought leadership. Together with the vertical & country leaders, you will drive the development of risk advisory solutions and business development across markets. In this role – and working closely with colleagues across Underwriting, Risk Engineering and our local business units, you will ensure Zurich builds a leading position in Climate, Cyber, Business Continuity and Enterprise Risk Management.

 

What you will do

 

  • Grow the Risk Advisory business by leading the development of ZRS’s overall advisory proposition for both new/independent customers and existing Zurich clients.
  • Define the global distribution and go to market approach for new/independent customers.
  • Lead a team of global vertical leaders (e.g. Cyber, Climate, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Enterprise
  • Risk Management (ERM) to shape their respective propositions and ensure cross leveraging of expertise, capabilities, insights and tools.
  • Lead Zurich’s thought leadership agenda on resilience, including external publications, customer engagements, conference participation and industry partnerships.
  • Oversee the customer-facing risk advisory teams that work across many of our countries and regions.
  • Alongside the country leaders, drive the business development activity across markets by working with local ZRS and Commercial teams to embed risk advisory solutions into propositions, customer conversations and go to market strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and stakeholder expectations related to resilience, and translate insights into actionable initiatives and solution enhancements.
  • Work with ZRS leaders and SMEs to develop concrete risk mitigation strategies for our customers across geographies and industries, and to develop integrated propositions that bring the best of ZRS cross-line of business capabilities to our customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Group Risk, Underwriting, and other key stakeholders to integrate risk advisory solutions into Zurich’s broader strategy and commercial offering.
  • Explore partnership opportunities to enhance the service offering to customers.
  • Provide strategic guidance and coaching to regional and local teams on key topics to build capabilities and ensure consistent delivery of our risk advisory proposition.

 

What you bring

 

  • Several years of experience in risk advisory, consulting, risk engineering or a related field, ideally with exposure to clients from many sectors.
  • Proven track record in developing and/or delivering risk advisory propositions, solutions or services in a complex, international environment, showcasing tangible customer impact.
  • Significant track record of commercial success in building/scaling a new business/proposition, including business development and direct customer interactions. 
  • Ability to translate technical risk concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Proven ability to build and leverage a strong network of prospective customers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working across functions and geographies.
  • The ability to influence and lead in a global matrix structure. 
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution capability – comfortable moving from concept development to practical implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.
  • A growth-oriented, proactive and resilient mindset, with a genuine passion for sustainability and helping customers build resilience.
