Head of Group Consolidation 80-100%

Zurich Insurance Group’s Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) function is currently recruiting for a new Financial Reporting Manager to Head of Group Consolidation based in Zurich, Switzerland.  
Leading a team of five with additional support from the Regional Finance Center in Krakow, the Head of Group Consolidation is accountable for the execution of the Group’s quarterly IFRS and annual SST consolidated financial data, as well as for maintaining related processes and control requirements. As part of this process, there is a high degree of interaction across other areas of Finance including local FAR, FSM, Group Tax, the external audit and the IFRS 17 and 9 project teams.

 

What you will do

 

  • Timely and accurate preparation of the Group’s IFRS Consolidated data for ZIG (Zurich Insurance Group) and on a biannual basis for ZICG (Zurich Insurance Corporate Group 

  • Leading the implementation IFRS 17 and 9 consolidation 

  • Leading the team managing three separate processes Consolidation, Equity and Intercompany reconciliation with a strong focus on technical excellence, internal control and auditability

  • Accountability for all accounting and technical consolidation topics related to external IFRS and SST production including implementation of new or updated processes stemming from changes to accounting standards and/or Group Accounting Policy

  • Fostering an environment of continuous improvement in FAR processes to drive operational excellence

  • Ad-hoc reporting to senior management as needed
     

What you bring

 

  • Strong management capabilities, both with respect to line management of a team and also across functions outside of direct reporting lines

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in consolidation, financial reporting, audit or similar

  • Strong practical and theoretical knowledge in group accounting and consolidation

  • Knowledge of financial reporting and the preparation of the financial statements with focus on equity including solid knowledge of IFRS

  • Practical understanding of financial closing and reporting processes, particularly as part of a large, multinational organization

  • Strong working knowledge of commonly used applications in Group Finance – SAP,  BCS , Powerbi , Power Apps Sharepoint . 

  • Focused and precise working style, with the ability to understand and tackle complex issues with pragmatism particularly under pressure

  • Resilient, willing to go the 'extra-mile' in peak times 

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English; any other language is a plus
