The goal of this internship is to develop a probabilistic model that identifies a general “rule” for when the installation of sprinkler systems is economically favorable. 
 
 
 
What you will do
 
Supported by our Subject Matter Experts in fire, you will develop a probabilistic sprinkler effectiveness model, focusing on: 
  • Quantifying the impact of sprinklers on expected fire losses 
  • Estimating changes in insurance costs and maintenance costs 
  • Deriving conditions under which sprinkler installation is economically attractive 
  • Contribute to the design and testing of the model (e.g. scenario analysis, sensitivity checks). 
  • Be part of a fantastic team and share your ideas on innovation in risk modelling and fire protection 
 
 
What you bring 
 
  • Enrolment in a university or institute of higher education for the duration of the internship (mandatory). 
  • Student in Engineering, Physics or Maths or a related field. 
  • First experience in data analysis and a basic understanding of data models (e.g. probabilistic or statistical models).  
  • Solid experience with analytical tools such as Excel, Python, R or similar is a plus. 
  • Curious mind with problem‑solving skills and an interest in risk.
  • Responsible, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. 
  • You must be located in Switzerland for the duration of your internship.
