Reinsurance Accounting Analyst, IP Reinsurance, 80%-100%

Within the IPZ Reinsurance Constructs and Accounting team, we are seeking for a senior specialist to focus on international reinsurance transactions with an end-to-end view.


In this role you will coordinate with regional Zurich offices to ensure accurate reinsurance transactions via the SAP/ZIRIS system and you will be responsible for the reconciliation and settlement process of these transactions with external reinsurers.
You will communicate daily with a variety of Zurich internal stakeholders, external reinsurers and customers, and manage complex cases in an international environment.

 

What you will do


In this key role your main areas of responsibility will be:

 

•    Ensure the correct set-up of Captive, Co-Reinsurance and Facultative Reinsurance structures within the SAP/ZIRIS system.
•    Execution of technical bookings and related payments.
•    Timely and correct reconciliation of technical bookings with related cash items.
•    Perform analysis on existing SAP/ZIRIS reinsurance structures and corrections as required.
•    Clarifications related to cash clearing for any overdue un-cleared items. 
•    Monitor progress and report on delays, develop action plans to reduce impact on closing processes where required.
•    Data analysis and interpretation to identify patterns and proactively provide solutions.
•    Provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders and maintain good relationships with them.
•    Continuous review, documentation, and improvement of existing internal processes.
•    Active participation at project work and training initiatives.
•    Project work, training and occasional travel are a part of this function.

 

What you will bring


As a Specialist in Reinsurance Constructs and Accounting your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


•    4 or more years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
•    Completed academic education on Bachelor’s degree level or similar.
•    A good understanding of international program business and knowledge of SAP FS-CD is a strong asset.
•    Very good analytical skills to combine the relevant information, to form general rules and/or draw conclusions.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively identify potential issues or risks.
•    Ability to work with tight deadlines.
•    Team player with strong intercultural and communication skills, ability to drive change.
•    Open minded and enthusiastic person who likes to learn and has a drive to get things done.
•    Fluent English is a prerequisite, any further language is an asset.
•    Flexible approach in a constantly changing environment.
•    PC literate with advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint.
