Become part of Zurich’s Property & Casualty (P&C) Risk team in Group Risk Management. In this Senior Risk Manager role, you will deliver valuable risk insights to key business and risk stakeholders through independent insurance risk reviews and effective risk reporting. You will have responsibility for governance and oversight, provide strategic and operational leadership, and support the professional development of our technical team.

 


What you will do


As Senior Property & Casualty Risk Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Act as independent Risk adviser to P&C insurance functions, providing Risk challenge and review in decision making processes, governance and assurance activities. 
  • Lead independent top-down analysis and assessment of insurance risks, including risk deep dives and the production of reports. 
  • Provide actionable risk insights to senior management. 
  • Develop and maintain effective Risk Governance including policies and other governance documents for insurance risks.
  • Deliver risk reporting, including Quarterly Risk Reports (QRR) and Board Risk and Investment Committee (BRIC) reports.
  • Shape the P&C Risk Deep Dive Plan, ensuring Group material risks are identified and assessed.
  • Mentor and support the development of other members of our team and wider Group Risk Management.
  • Communicate and engage with regulators, auditors, Group experts, the Group CRO and the relevant Boards on P&C insurance risk topics. 
  • Contribute to group-wide projects and initiatives, including training and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional and local risk officers, and other Risk teams. 

 

What you bring


As Senior Property & Casualty Risk Manager your skills and qualifications will include:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience in the insurance industry, within P&C. 
  • Advanced business acumen and knowledge of the insurance industry coupled with experience in multiple functions (particularly in underwriting) is preferred. Experience in Retail is an advantage.
  • Awareness of risks embedded in insurance products, related processes and underlying data.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, decision-making and judgment skills with the ability to find practical solutions in complex, multi-interest settings by showing adaptability and taking personal ownership of delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent advisory, influencing, negotiating, and relationship building skills.
  • Expertise in Risk Management, with a deep understanding of risk management principles and practices, particularly in the context of P&C insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced data literacy, analytics and visualization skills.
  • Role modelling of behaviors that demonstrate commitment to Zurich values.
  • Fluent English, both oral and written.
