As a Senior P&C Risk Manager, you will act as a trusted risk business partner to business leadership, providing independent risk insight, challenge and advice across one of Zurich’s largest businesses. Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across Group Risk Management and business teams, you will help drive meaningful improvements in risk management practices, strengthen governance, promote informed decision-making, and support better outcomes for our customers.

What you will do

• Provide independent risk advice, guidance and challenge to key stakeholders on major activities, projects and business decisions across the P&C portfolio.  
• Lead and oversee risk analyses and assessments, including risk deep dives and risk assessments for major projects; review and challenge risk responses; provide actionable risk insights to senior management.  
• Develop and enhance risk governance, including policies, methodologies, tools and templates, ensuring consistent adoption across the P&C organization.  
• Oversee assurance, monitoring and reporting activities, validating key findings and translating them into clear insights for senior management.  
• Support Risk Management leadership on strategic priorities, executive discussions and key risk matters.  
• Promote a strong risk culture through delivery of training and stakeholder engagement.  

What you bring

• 12+ years’ experience within P&C Commercial Insurance or Retail, preferably in a business function such as Underwriting or Claims, or in risk management.  
• Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in risk management, insurance, actuarial science, finance, economics, business administration or a related discipline. Professional underwriter certification is an advantage.  
• Advanced understanding of the P&C insurance business, including key risk drivers across underwriting, reserving, claims, pricing, catastrophe exposure, reinsurance, operational risk and strategic risk.  
• Experience working in a second line risk management function, or equivalent experience providing independent review, challenge and advisory support to business stakeholders.  
• Proven ability to interpret risk information, identify key themes and translate findings into clear recommendations and management actions.  
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, collaboration and execution skills, with a track record of engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making in a complex matrix organization.  
• Experience leading or supporting risk assessments, risk appetite reviews, assurance activities, governance processes and management reporting.
