Zurich Insurance is one of the most specialized insurance companies within non-life insurance for local and international business in the Benelux market.

The Head of Marketing and Communications Benelux is part of the Benelux management team and enhances Zurich Commercial Insurance’s reputation by driving the unique commercial value proposition and thought leadership activation.

This role will be responsible for developing B2B marketing opportunities and activities for the market-facing business, to mobilize ideas and support organizational marketing objectives for revenue, growth, customer retention and satisfaction, and broker engagement.
 

As the Head of Marketing and Communications Benelux you will be leading the external profiling for Zurich Commercial Insurance business. You will be responsible for implementing an annual communications strategy and plan, which delivers an integrated program of customers, distributors, and sale activities to achieve agreed strategic objectives. You will work collaboratively with all departments and wider business areas to research, develop and implement compelling ‘take to market’ strategies, effective, integrated initiatives and campaigns. You will work closely with the CEO and Segment Leaders and will also execute upon these strategies.

 

We are looking for a highly engaged, outgoing and positive person to join us as Head of Marketing and Communications Benelux.

 

This is a fulltime hybrid role where you will be working from our office in Zaventem, Belgium or in The Hague, Netherlands.

 

What you will do

 

  • Develop and execute creative plans on strategic and tactical market engagements with brokers and customers with an aim to be ‘continuously at front of mind’;
  • Continually review changes to the market, consumer trends and the activities of competitors, adjusting the marketing plan if necessary;
  • Provide tools and materials to enable the Sales and Underwriting teams to function effectively;
  • Capture market research studies and ensure Zurich’s voice;
  • Develop sales / marketing material (proposition websites, go-to-market decks etc.) in line with the Zurich brand and the Commercial Insurance proposition;
  • Cultivate strong relationships with business/functional leaders and other colleagues to facilitate effective strategic communications;
  • Lead marketing planning and manage project related budgets. Develop methods to track effectiveness of implemented programs by monitoring performance and cost effectiveness;
  • Hands-on management of marketing communication projects / below the line campaigns from end-to-end;
  • Lead proposition / product launches (conceptualization, virtual team management, asset creation, execution aligned with local and group teams);
  • Lead sponsorships and events from end-to-end;
  • As part of campaign management, lead and administer a variety of marketing / communication activities (virtual events, webinars, podcasts, articles, etc);
  • Act as a social media spokesperson for Zurich and lead one of the LinkedIn Showcase Pages (content planning and development, scheduling, measurement, etc.);

 

What you bring

 

  • Background and 7+ years’ experience in the field of B2B marketing and communications; Having Insurance or Financial Services experience would be highly advantageous;
  • Experience with managing large and complex marketing / communication projects on several levels in a large global organization. Having a hands-on approach to multi-disciplined marketing is required;
  • Language skills: excellent professional Dutch & French language skills (written and oral), and solid / excellent English language skills (written and oral),
  • Highly independent, creative, driven, organized and capable of delivering in a fast paced environment
  • Familiar with paid media activation
