Team Lead Underwriting Services

Zurich Insurance is currently looking for a Team leader for our Underwriting Services team based in Belgium.

 

As UWS Team Leader Belgium you will be reporting, together with the two other Team Leaders Benelux, into the Manager Underwriting Services Benelux. Your team is tasked with the correct administration of domestic & international insurance policies (policy issuing, invoicing, etc.) for our business in Belgium. This concerns standard insurance policies for all Lines of Business. The current team consists of approximately 14 FTE’s divided among our producing & domestic segment.

 

You have ideally good experience with non-life Insurance and you are a people driven person, team player with a passion and enthusiasm to help drive an organization forward. In this role you will have the possibility to develop yourself and your skills further within a global insurer. Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and energize a team of +/- 14 people. Distribute and allocate work.
  • Maintain team planning, ensuring sufficient backup to cover holidays/absence 
  • Maintain training levels and employee development 
  • Drive & lead improvement initiatives across all segments 
  • Collaboration with the other Country Team Lead to align processes, procedures
  • and quality 
  • Actively participate in improvement initiatives across functions that are linked to UWS 
  • Deliver world-class service within expected time frame 
  • Ensure optimal customer service through adherence to the Zurich guidelines with a continuous improvement mind-set 
  • Strengthen and improve the interaction with customers and brokers in order to deliver outstanding service 

 

Requirements/Profile 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) 
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in an international operating company, preferably in insurance, banking or financial services 
  • Knowledge of national and international insurance processes 
  • Fluent in either French or Dutch with sufficient knowledge of the other language combined with fluent English 
  • Experience in leading small projects 
  • Analytical, accurate and service minded 
  • Good computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel & PowerPoint 
  • Strong leadership skills and coaching capabilities 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills 
  • Willing to occasionally travel to other Zurich offices
