Zurich Capability Center is currently hiring a:
ETL Developer
In Zurich Capability Center we are looking for a highly skilled ETL Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and optimizing data pipelines, integrating data from various sources, and ensuring the delivery of clean, structured, and timely data to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and DevOps to ensure robust and scalable data flows across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
•Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and loading into data warehouses and analytical platforms.
•Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation.
•Integrate data from APIs, relational databases, flat files, and cloud-based sources.
•Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune ETL jobs for performance and reliability.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
•Perform root cause analysis on data issues and implement corrective actions.
•Ensure proper data governance, data quality, and documentation across all data flows.
Technical Requirements:
•7 years of hands-on experience in ETL development using tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Apache NiFi, or similar.
•Advanced knowledge of SQL (CTEs, window functions, joins, performance tuning).
•Strong experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
•Experience designing data pipelines for cloud platforms (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow, etc.).
•Familiarity with version control systems (Git), CI/CD practices, and Agile development methodologies.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schema, slowly changing dimensions, surrogate keys, etc.).
•Knowledge of data quality frameworks, error handling, and logging best practices.
Nice to Have:
•Advanced English (C1) – must be able to communicate effectively in daily stand-ups, technical discussions, documentation, and client meetings
Programming experience with Python or Scala for data processing and scripting.
•Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
•Exposure to Big Data technologies (Spark, Hive, HDFS).
•Experience with containerization (Docker) and deployment in Kubernetes environments.
•Knowledge of data cataloging and lineage tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
