Main function of job:

  • Perform risk assessment of financial and medical cases within authorized authority limits.
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements related to Underwriting risk assessment such as GL guidelines, AML, FATCA, CRS etc..
  • Provide second approval on NB applications referred from underwriters.
  • Handle pre-underwriting cases, appeal cases and PA underwriting cases.
  • Provide good quality, professional & competitive response to sales / distribution channels.
  • Conduct periodic training to underwriters for supporting the underwriting function.
  • Participate in projects / new products etc. regarding to the NB & UW Rules and Guidelines.
  • Handle ad-hoc assignments.

 

Main job responsibilities:

  • Ensure the assigned new business tasks comply with the Company’s NB & UW rules, regulatory guidelines and our Global Policies.
  • Proactively review and enhance the NB & UW rules, guidelines & procedural workflow to maintain sound productivity, efficiency and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Allocate work and monitor daily production performance to ensure completion of the business transactions and agreed service level.
  • Provide recommendations and execute process streamlining and service improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with cross-department stakeholders at projects.

 

Your Skills and Experience

  • Degree holder with professional qualification such as FLMI.
  • At least 10 years of experience in life underwriting with at least 5 years or above in supervisory / managerial role.
  • Solid Financial knowledge covering Individual, Corporate & Trust Models with Underwriting authority sum assured/ total premium of USD20M, & Medical Underwriting knowledge with extra mortality & morbidity with all maximum loading, postpone and decline. Candidates with Corporate & Trust Models with 5 years or more experience is preferable.
  • Solid knowledge of life, health and universal life products are required.
  • Strong interpersonal & presentative ability, analytical & problems solving skills.
  • Strong business mind who can collaborate parties with synergy.
  • Work independently with good organisational, time management and people management skills whilst working accurately and able to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Competent PC knowledge including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good spoken and written English and Chinese.
