Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Compensation Consultant to support the evolution of our Total Rewards model and act as the Canada subject matter expert for compensation.
Reporting to the AVP, Total Rewards & HR Operations, you will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, HR Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition teams on compensation strategy, market competitiveness, pay governance, and compensation-related decision making. This highly visible, business-facing role blends technical expertise with strategic partnership and will play a key role in modernizing compensation practices through data, automation, and AI-enabled tools.

What you will do:
Compensation Expertise & Delivery
• Lead end-to-end compensation support across Canada
• Provide market pricing, salary structure governance, and compensation modelling
• Support annual compensation cycles including merit, bonus, and equity programs, as well as ongoing pay decisions
• Contribute to job architecture, job evaluation, and pay transparency practices
• Support executive compensation activities in partnership with the AVP, Total Rewards & HR Operations
Evolving the Compensation Model
• Advance Zurich Canada’s compensation capabilities, tools, and infrastructure
• Support implementation and optimization of Total Rewards platforms
• Strengthen governance, reporting, and regulatory alignment
• Bring forward market insights and industry best practices to continuously improve programs and processes
Business Partnership
• Act as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders
• Provide clear, data-driven guidance on hiring, promotions, organizational changes, and compensation decisions
• Collaborate across HR to ensure consistent and high-quality compensation outcomes
Insights, AI & Enablement
• Use data, automation, and AI-enabled tools to enhance compensation analysis, reporting, and decision support
• Translate compensation insights into clear, actionable recommendations for leaders
• Identify opportunities to streamline and modernize compensation processes
• Deliver training and guidance on compensation programs, tools, and annual cycles
What you bring to the table
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
AND
• Strong expertise in market pricing, salary structures, and incentive programs
• Experience supporting annual compensation cycles and pay governance practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present compensation data effectively
• Experience advising business leaders and HR stakeholders on compensation-related matters
• Strong communication, influencing, and relationship management skills
• Experience working with HR systems, compensation tools, and reporting platforms
Preferred:
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation or progress toward certification
• Experience within a large, matrixed, or global organization
• Knowledge of Canadian pay transparency legislation and compensation governance practices
• Experience leveraging automation, analytics, or AI-enabled tools to improve HR or compensation processes
• Advanced Excel and data modelling skills
At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate’s skills and experience.
